Hello Everyone,
Last month while visiting Malaysia I was fortunate enough to sit down with Max Chernov a fellow YouTuber who is based in Singapore and runs an amazing YouTube channel where he interviews expats from around the world.
This is a very different style interview than I’ve ever done before. Max and I did not prepare anything before this interview. We wanted it to be as natural and real as possible and just answer questions right off the top of my mind.
During this interview I share a much more personal journey of my experience in China. I answer some of the most pressing questions about China and also discuss some of the most common misconceptions.
The feedback from this interview has been INCREDIBLE! I’m just so happy that I was able to meet Max and record this video.
On another note, I have already been confirmed as a speaker for the 2025 Nomad Capitalist conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 2025! I’ll have lots of time to prepare for this trip and will record more interviews like this in Malaysia and Singapore.
As always thank you for your support, please enjoy this video and share with your friends and family!

Nice one Cyrus. You have a great attitude! You are also very polite to everyone including unpaid substackers like myself. Westerners are usually very bad at giving recognition and respect to others, as if doing so is somehow going to diminish themselves? We have a very insecure and selfish culture. That will be our downfall.
I have looked forward to a video or interview from Cyrus. I'm never disappointed.
