And make peace to the world? Isn’t China a vicious, autocratic dictatorship? Gulags, ethnic cleansing, no free speech, AI and tech-mediated social control? Intentions on Taiwan? Ever wondered how many refugees China gives sanctuary to? Or are we that amoral that as long as a “trading partner” doesn’t mess with us they can do whatever the fuck they want in their own backyard and we’ll turn a blind eye?
You are ignorant of the Asian culture and value. And incoporating too many of what the Western media has portrayed of China. If China is an autocratic dictatorship, it wouldn't have lifted so many people out of poverty. Social control so what? At least you feel safe and can walk down the street at night not fearing anyone may shoot or stab you. Do make a trip to China and witness for yourself instead of making assumptions on China based on what the Western media portray. No country is perfect.
So find us a real one, Anthony instead of those manufactured by your media. People like you who are stupid enough to believe the propaganda spread by your government are a large part of the problem. You ever learnt to think independently? Like in a world with satellites and smartphones everywhere why it is that the US still has been unable to provide any photographic proof of what purportedly goes on in Xinjiang?

Ah yes, my “media” all conspiring together for no particular reason other than maybe to stave off boredom. Just check out a few official Chinese state sources. I’m sure you’ll be able to see through the euphemisms around, inter alia, “vocational training”.
You didn't seem to concerned about the Potato-in-Chief flying unvetted and illegal entrants across the nation?
The US doesn't need a judge's signature to deport illegals.
Finger print them, take their mug shot, give them a retina scan and record their names in "the book".
That's all the due process they need.
Of course, the Potato-in-Chief's regime made the current administrations task much more difficult AND more likely to result in errors.
Your boy Kilmar had a final deportation order that a judge decide he could over-rule years ago and SCOTUS decided that the executive branch is not actually in charge of enforcing immigration laws.
You think America has free speech today? Ask all the protesters at Cornell and Northwestern Universities ask all the Lawyers whom Trump has blackmailed into submission. Gulag? That sounds like these 3rd world prisons that Trump has deported thousands to, without due course.
Nope, but China’s system is baked in and has been for years. The US has a lot not to be proud of prior to Trump, but at the moment, there’s still some fluidity. Yes, you can become like China, or Russia, or some new combination of ultra-neo-capitalist dictatorship, but at least today (don’t know about next week) individuals such as wealthy corporate lawyers, and many others, have choices. In China and Russia, today and next week, no one has choices. Over there, there’s no “We the People”.
I would just like to add my input as an Asian. Sometimes I feel like the West thinks that the only model that works is the model they come up with. If a system contradicts with what you perceive as democracy, that doesn't mean it has to be wrong. Yea China might not be the democracy that the West thinks it is since it is a one party rule. But do you know that to promote to become the general secretary of the CCP, one has to have a proven track record and not just "buy" his way into the office? Yes as a shareholder I am frustrated by the Chinese government crackdown, but if you think about it, this sort of socialist-capitalist system works well at least for China concept. They crackdown so the education sector, so that children won't grow up only knowing how to study and have free time to do some other activities. It's for the benefit and welfare of the many. Yes each country has their weaknesses and we cannot just magnify its weaknesses and ignore their progress. China will not develop so fast as it is today if it were a Western style democracy. Suggest to read Henry Kessinger's "On China" book. That way perhaps you may get a better understanding. Not every country has to be a carbon copy of the Western style democracy.
Don’t think that I criticise China to whitewash my, or a different, system. Nonetheless, having no serious public expression of freedom of thought is pretty shit. My point was that - particularly now in the US, we’re heading in a similar direction, but the door hasn’t yet slammed shut. By the way, Henry Kissinger was, effectively, a mass murderer, so I’ll take his wisdom with a big pinch of salt.
That was the world that was… Now people irretrievably disappeared, invasion and annexation of neighbors and partners, dismantled regulatory agencies and social safety networks, hate and bigotry as the lingua Franca… The Looks like the leopards are exchanging spots.
The US has been skating on goodwill ever since WWII. Don’t look what we do, look at the other guy. With Stalin and Hitler in the rear-view mirror, it was easy. Now the little countries might start telling the truth.
I mean they wanna do that but the only problem with them is that they’re not transparent they don’t level the Plainfield. China would be a terrible partner to partner with. Nobody really knows what China makes.
Add to that the overfinancialized economy that the US runs on compared to the real value and physical wealth economy that China and most countries in the Global South runs on and you get an even grimmer picture for the Americans and their Western allies
Simply put, the American economy is mostly numbers on a screen and held up by speculation and stocks that add no real value and wealth to the common man while China and Global South economies deal with tangible wealth and value
Conclusion; US and the Western economies are majorly fucked whilst BRICS and the global South will only continue to grow stronger. I hope the Europeans are able to detach from America and join the BRICS movement more so we can all grow faster and leave the cancer that is America and it's dollar behind in the past
🎯 You hit a nail on the head and, too, the one in the coffin with the United States of Amnesia and its global vassals.
And you are also spot on with the screened castles in the sky built on hallucinations of primordial (settler-)colonial genociders, compared to the ethos and economies of tangible benefits to the people China and GS cultivate.
On that note, having frequented the US and UK and lived in a number of EU countries, before moving to China, I wouldn't want the former clusterfucks anywhere near any economy. The shit already hitting the fan there, makes for an exceptional moment for all of the former to simply drown in their own feces, so the world can finally 🪠🚽 them down to the gutter, where they belong.
Damn, I'm finally met someone who hates the West as much as me or even more! 🤣🤣
Let me be honest with you.. I only added that last part down there about Europe joining with BRICS because I thought you were an European as I didn't even read your Name well enough before replying and since I hardly get to engage with people from China here and mostly the West, I assumed you would be European and since you made such a terrific post, I added that last part to be charitable to your supposed 'european heritage '. My bad 😅
So my real feelings actually tally with yours in that the collective West have enjoyed their period of prosperity on the backs of the suffering and putting down of all other races and people's of the world. Now that their fun time is over and reality is about to crash into them fulltime, I hope they receive the full measure of their comeuppance and feel the pain that other people's of the world have been feeling for generations while they were busy profiting from their stolen wealth and civilization
Found the previous one, too, numskully stacked by Substack as a standalone comment. XD Here goes ->
Got you covered on that 1st one! 🤣 And wholeheartedly on your last perennially-on-the-point Point. ✊🏼So many centuries in, and yet so many people are oblivious to the facts of why one of the biggest Gomorrahs of humanity - collective shitstorm known as the collective West, has been basking in commodities for so long. And at what and whose expense. The force of the current global currents will finally catch up and slap them on the face so hard, but with nothing to hold on to, they will be literally eating themselves up to survive, as they should. "Famous" Western individualism make sure of that.
I know that all to well, having actually been born and growing up the first half of my life in Europe, albeit at the periphery thereof (the Balkans). Owing to my parents sanity and awareness alone, was I able to keep my own sanity. And evolve my awareness early in life of what distinct and epic, scientifically speaking, Theory of Bullshit and scripted white-supremacist post-truth, less scientifically speaking, mindfuck the EU and the West is. Ergo my lifelong globetrotting across physical and cultures of thinking. Therefore, never think twice about egg shells when you know you are 🎯 on point. Accomodation is what killed the cat. 😁 So, thank you my brother-in-Humanity for chancing upon my VR space, and for giving the cat plenty more lives to stay enrichingly curios. 🤜🏼🤛🏼🙂
We together my brother-in-humanity 🤜🏼🤜🏼 ( I like the sound of that 😄 )
As for Substack making your post standalone, it has happened to me sometimes and the general rule of thumb for dealing with that is you will see "replying to x" above your message and if it is blank, that means your hand touched something and so it got moved to being a stand alone comment ( but how many times can you be checking that huh 😅)
To the main gist of your post, I thank your parents for preserving your sanity in that heavily propagandized world and I pray their mindset doesn't spread further than it has already before it dies it's inevitable death
And when you step back to think about it, the scale of the evil for just a very few people to intentionally sabotage and fuck with the minds of their own fellow citizens and then attempt to do that globally as well is just fucking sick and cannibalistic, downright vampiric... And to their own people and children for0 generations is a level beyond any evil even the devil can dream of
Your mistaken US is still the 2nd largest manufacturer in the world. China runs large huge trade deficits, exports communists values, suppression of individual right’s. Free trade is supposed to be balanced, meaning your exports cancel out your imports. Otherwise, it’s become a zero sum game.
You make Trump’s argument. Let’s see how much you grow with a 104% US tariff. Of course you'll make up the numbers to conform with the party line so we’ll never know the truth.
Oh boy, another Trumpy MAGA bot. 🤦 Actually you do, with such make believe numbers as 104%. You do realise they have no real world value outside your Confederacy of Dunces 🇺🇲 And neither does the MAGA hogwash you're peddling here. Another indicator of you having the Trumpian 🚽 for a brain is your intellectually-challenged reasoning based off of a nickname here. Newsflash there's no party-line conforming here, it's the official IMF data for 2025. Apparently, you're just too dumb to know which data matters and, for that matter, how to read it. So let me do it for you Trumpy-bot -> Projected Real GDP: China 4.5%, US measly 2.2%. Have fun dumpster diving, and pray that moonshine and fentanyl don't hit a 104% increase. Although, if that fails, you can still count on one of those terrific all-American made airplanes falling on your head, or on one of those Tesla-dumpsters self-immolating you, as a contingency. ✌️
If life is so great in the USA why does President, and his people, have to crash the economies of so many other countries or kill hundreds of thousands through forever wars.
I think you need to stop gaslighting people on how good it is in the USA.
Actions speak much louder then words. The actions of the USA since world war 2 is nothing to be proud of.
I am a human being who is sharing with you what the majority of the world’s population thinks of the USA.
I am an Australian who has been living in South East Asia for over 20 years.
So please answer my questions instead of single sentence gaslit propaganda.
The world’s population does not want the US culture. We thought you were exceptional but we now know the truth.
You guys are psycopaths. Thinking that more FIAT solves all problems.
While the rest of the world builds economies that bring people out of poverty the USA tries to drag them back into poverty so the people of the USA can gaslight themselves that they are exceptional. The USA is a banana republic. Unable to understand humanity.
Why don't you mind your own business Aussie? China is about to swallow you whole and spit you out. Your PM knows this which is why he wisely sought not to respond by levying tariffs on your protector, the US.
Life expectancy is a crucial metric that reveals disparities in access to education, food, work, and healthcare in the nation. It’s wonderful that almost all Americans have affordable healthcare…except for the 35% who can’t access quality care when they need it, and the millions more who might lose Medicaid thanks to ongoing efforts to dismantle it!
GDP indicates everything. The US accounts for over 30% of worldwide demand, and we’re in the process of reshoring manufacturing. The world had better play ball or FAFA.
You aMuricans aka. 🇬🇧rejects are really a "special" intellectually-challenged breed with the shallowest neural processing "capabilities", high on nothing but most laughable of bigotries. One's nickname here carries no ethnic/national baggage you 🚽🧠 imbecile. 🤦🏼
We’re not in the Ukraine war. Arguably Russia is a paper tiger and China hasn't fought a war since the ‘70s, and then it didn't fare well against the Vietnamese.
We are balls deep involved in the Banderan SMO. A better read commenter would understand that Russia is out producing all of NATO in war materiél by a wide margin.
Russia is getting bled dry by Ukraine to the point where they have to hire North Korean and Chinese mercenaries. They had better hope Trump can bail them out, which is looking less and less likely.
Russia is floundering against a third-rate military. The US would make mincemeat out of them in a conventional war. Even the Europeans think they can defend Ukraine.
China is an ancient civilization that shows mature behaviour under pressure. The UK, Israel, America (& their satellites) are raging, Genocidal, egomaniacal and barbarian. China doesn’t need to ‘do’ anything about them. They will hopefully self destruct. The sooner the better.
I’m not American and I don’t suffer from the anti- china bias. The propaganda about the Uyghurs is terrible if it’s true. Who other than the USA has nuked people and wages war on 1/2 the world? Who other than the USA is complicit in IzraHELLs genocide? Who said China was perfect? The only reason why you hate China is because you’re supposed to.
Good-meaning Americans keep making the mistake of self-flagellation, thinking if we say how horrible our country is/was, it will alleviate our collective guilt. America has done many things wrong; so have most other countries in the world. Human history is filled with cruelty and abuse. No one is innocent, including China.
congratulations, your piece highlights how American business schools are teaching the wrong things. U.S. companies focus on quarterly results, short term thinking. China has been following a long term plan. they have brought a significant portion of their population out of poverty. They have modernized their industries. They have invested in their infrastructure and research. Now have they done this all on their own, no. They have stolen whatever they could to advance their industries and undercut the west. But they are not a democracy and having been treated poorly by most of the world for centuries, results trump methods. One party agreeing on a vision and planning to see it through has beaten our 2 party system not looking past the next election cycle. Am I in favor of a one party system, no. I'm decrying our lack of vision from our leadership.
Don’t know where we are today, but a few years ago China was posed to be the number one economy by 2050. The current tariffs environment has catapulted China to a faster track. Soon Latin America will be all in with China and US security compromised south of the border. Did any of these brainiacs think about this outcome “ Just last year, China announced it would have ZERO tariffs for all developing countries around the world—cementing its position as the trade leader for the Global South.” This should be wake up call before too late.
Key problem for China is that the playing field isn’t level relative to what can be considered normal business practice. If I sell you something then you steal the idea and manufacture it and cut me out that’s no good. Key reason is because I lose the ability to take care of myself. This has long been an issue with China.
1. China's trading power comes from its manufacturing prowess. If it manufactures more than what itself can consume, then of course it is all for free trade. The U.S. is in the opposite position.
2. There is NO way the U.S. can catch up with China's "world factory" status, nor do the U.S. workers clamor for sweating in front of the assembly line. I saw a report on National Defense that, on one side a Subway restaurant posted hiring a staff for $18/hour plus benefits, on the other side a shipyard posted hiring a worker for $21/hour, which door would a job seeker work in if he's looking for a job?
3. The comparative advantage argument of Ricardo for the international trade is valid as long as there is negligible possibility of war. Now that probability has gone up tremendously not only for China vs. U.S., but in other regions all over the world, countries need to think about what they want to do if war breaks out and normal trades are disrupted.
4. How long can China keep its manufacturing advantage with the population growth calculus turns against its favor? The generation of "Great Migration" starting in 1980s, booming in 1990-2000s, and now ebbing after 2010s, will vacate the stage, and how many workers can China continue to find to sustain its world factories?
These are hard questions, and simple, reflexive policies will not be able to address them.
Canada is now embarking on a transition to east-west trade within the country and outside. A pivot to strengthen trade with the E.U. and the U.K. is underway to reduce north-south reliance on the U.S. and Mexico.
This is right on the money. I've been saying this, but in a much broader sense in many of my articles. China is also the reason why Trump has been trying to forge relationships with Putin for years and also the reason why Trump along with Musk has been encouraging the alt-right across Europe i.e. he is desperate to weaken European democracy and break up the EU as a trading power. The bottom line is the US will lose its democracy and global leadership to China's Iron Shirt. Trump should read history books and play RISK. He's fighting too many frontlines and no one has ever come out a winner by doing that.
All these countries are running trade deficits with China financed deficits they are running with the US. One thing you fail to mention is the all these countries will not be able to develop or grow their manufacturing because China will dump products into their countries case in point Indonesia and textiles.
China wants to trade, build, research, manufature, earn, save and make peace to the world.
Amen to that! Let's seek more win win solutions
And make peace to the world? Isn’t China a vicious, autocratic dictatorship? Gulags, ethnic cleansing, no free speech, AI and tech-mediated social control? Intentions on Taiwan? Have you heard of Gaza
Libya
Syria
Vietnam
Afghanistan
The Western press is super biased against China. China us WAY more liberal in international relations than the US.
Tell that to a Uyghur wasting away in a re-education camp, or a Tibetan, maybe.

Yes, disappearing people to El Salvador means we’re that amoral.
We know where the "disappearing people to El Salvador" went. They are in prison.
Without due process. Knowing where they went is the initial step. Soon, not only we’ll not know where they went, we’ll stop talking about it.

Beware of China propaganda bots.
How is threatening Taiwan trying to make peace?
Chy-Nah doesn't threaten Taiwan. The US recognizes Taiwan as a part of CHY-NAH.
Chy-Nah doesn't need to invade the island. It can just blockade and force every import or export to land at a mainland port first.
I have a feeling all the new trading partners will not get a fair deal with China but maybe they will be happy with that arrangement.

Hahaha...Kamala landed in Africa at a modern airport, rode on a modern highway and gave a patronizing Q and A at a modern center in Luksala.
What do the airport, highway and center have in common? They were all built by China, at China's expense.
Great post!
Thank you Reg! Glad you enjoyed it
A very interesting article. Thank you.
My take on it is that Trump is marching the USA into an economic ghetto.
Actually if the OP is right, Trump is trying to march us OUT of an economic ghetto.
“Match?” As in burning the place down?
Combined GDP of the 20 countries listed: ~$5.51 trillion.
USA GDP: ~$27.675 trillion.
Winning? Hardly.
Try again with peddling BS, fail better. 🤣
China (atm): NOM GDP ~20 trill
US (atm): NOM GDP ~30 trill
China: PPP adjusted GDP ~39 trill
US: PPP adjusted GDP ~30 trill
China: ann. growth 4.5%
US: ann. growth 2.2%
Both you and US, epic L on your foreheads. 😂

The life expectancy of the average person from the USA is going down. Health care is not affordable to larger numbers in the USA.
I think you missed the point of the article.
A strong economy is not about bigger numbers measuring Fiat. A strong economy improves quality of life for all.
Almost all Americans have affordable healthcare. Life expectancy is not the most important metric and is challenging in a diverse culture.
Are you a China bot, a Russia bot, or both?
GDP doesn't indicate anything important. It certainly doesn't translate into manufacturing output.
GDP indicates everything. The US accounts for over 30% of worldwide demand, and we’re in the process of reshoring manufacturing. The world had better play ball or FAFA.
Anyone who thinks "GDP indicates everything" doesn't know how the BEA counts our GDP.
The rest of the world doesn't need the US for them to conduct trade amongst themselves.
Good. Then you should have no problem with Trumponomics tariffs.
This aged bloody "great".
🇺🇸 Fucked Around and Found Out it is FUCKED. 👏🏼🍿
China bot.
American 🚽for🧠 bot. 👏🏼
You are clearly a bot or on Xi’s payroll. I’m reporting and blocking you.
NY Times had a big elucidation
Never confuse GDP with productivity.
USA is a paper tiger
See Ukraine war
We’re not in the Ukraine war. Arguably Russia is a paper tiger and China hasn't fought a war since the ‘70s, and then it didn't fare well against the Vietnamese.
We are balls deep involved in the Banderan SMO. A better read commenter would understand that Russia is out producing all of NATO in war materiél by a wide margin.
You know...GDP and stuff.
Russia is getting bled dry by Ukraine to the point where they have to hire North Korean and Chinese mercenaries. They had better hope Trump can bail them out, which is looking less and less likely.
You sound like a Russia bot.
No country is providing troops to Ukraine.
Don't see how Russia attacking Ukraine says anything about America military capabilities.
We didn't have the ability to equip our NAZI proxy three years ago and still can't.
There is much more to prosecuting a campaign than just sending bodies.
Mind your own business anti-semite!
Sit down ZIOTROLL
Do you hate Jews?
Whenever you contextually misappropriate "anti-semite" you become the Biggest Anti-Semite in the room. You Anti-Semite Zio twat, you. 🤦🏼
Ask the Uyghurs how much they like China.
Good-meaning Americans keep making the mistake of self-flagellation, thinking if we say how horrible our country is/was, it will alleviate our collective guilt. America has done many things wrong; so have most other countries in the world. Human history is filled with cruelty and abuse. No one is innocent, including China.
Trump will destroy the U.S. in less than one year, never mind four.
Nonsense. Check back with me in a year.
congratulations, your piece highlights how American business schools are teaching the wrong things. U.S. companies focus on quarterly results, short term thinking.
Can China afford to be a major importer? They are reliant on experts.
Key problem for China is that the playing field isn’t level relative to what can be considered normal business practice. If I sell you something then you steal the idea and manufacture it and cut me out that’s no good. Key reason is because I lose the ability to take care of myself. This has long been an issue with China.
Some thoughts:
These are hard questions, and simple, reflexive policies will not be able to address them.
fuck china, brics, the ccp, and the horse they rode in on
Canada is now embarking on a transition to east-west trade within the country and outside. A pivot to strengthen trade with the E.U. and the U.K. is underway to reduce north-south reliance on the U.S. and Mexico.
Has no one here heard of Mao?! The founder of the Chinese Liberation Party who killed 70 million of his own people?
Why do people keep falling for the propaganda of dictatorships?
The adulation of authoritarian regimes is very disturbing. Please learn history.
Great article, thx Cyrus. Suspect it’s inconceivable to Trump & Co that the single most valuable card in the deck is “Trust”.

All these countries are running trade deficits with China financed deficits they are running with the US. One thing you fail to mention is the all these countries will not be able to develop or grow their manufacturing because China will dump products into their countries case in point Indonesia and textiles.
