The way forward is that China must rely on itself for innovation. China must be self-sufficient in technology and innovation.

Whoa, Mr. Jannsen...

While I'm hugely impressed with China's technology; ( Nobody ' wins a race to Nowhere'.)

I believe that EV's are a Dead End, and essentially a Fraud.

EV's are just one more step in the progression to a 'car-less' (sedentary) population. (15 min cities etc.)

The Electric Vehicle makes no sense at all unless humanity embraces Nuclear Energy! Burning Hydrocarbons to fuel EV's is ridiculous, and please don't suggest 'wind and solar'!

I personally like EVs a lot! I drive an EV here in the US and it saves a ton of money as gas prices are ridiculous. In addition, maintenance costs are considerably lower than traditional car, that being said I don't buy the idea that EVs are "better for the environment" they are not and in fact use way more energy and resources. I think if you buy an EV to "protect the planet" it's just silly, but if you buy one because they are fun to drive, more economical, and a good day to day car to use, I like it

Well stated! I will admit to my biases, mostly environmental (I live in rural Canada).

EV's do have benefits in dense urban centres. But, the Authoritarian Cookie Cutter, is predictably attempting to force this technology on a universal basis?

If Market Forces were allowed to function freely, EV's would find their natural place in the Universe, and other technologies would fill their respective niches.
