That is not what built their tech industry.

It has been built over decades when Western corporations decided to offshore their manufacturing capabilities to China for low wages and little regulation.

In return the Chinese required access to IP and manufacturing capabilities that allowed them to catch up to the West.

They also took advantage by sending their students overseas and others to learn (& steal) additional critical information!

The tariffs are just the icing on the cake.

Underestimating 1,4 billion people in a country larger than US and repeating stupid propaganda from the past is not helping. When you come to China, you will see they are15-20 years ahead of US and have so much innovation in place, the West only can dream of. Who is trying to steal from who. The arrogance of the US and us in Europe will be our largest obstacle to catch up. Try to visit China and find something that is stolen from US. They are so much ahead so there is nothing to steal anymore in America. Only way is cooperate and learn from each other.

Canada could learn to build a transportation industry like China. Then, learn how to recycle and reuse waste water, lower auto emissions by promoting small vehicles in cities and finally, organize industrial power utility stations to maximize energy instead of dumping excess energy and then we will have some of the economic attributes that China has already integrated.

I know the history well which you blatantly ignore in your screed to speak of the present. Without the past they would have no present.

Unlike you I will deal with facts which show that today China is a leading technology developer. The West foolishly built their competitor and are now playing catch up. However, current events show they are still looking to steal US technology.

Ideally it would be nice to collaborate but that is not how the real world works.

If China wants they should set the example and open their country to US Internet companies and social media platforms.

I copied the following insight from the article, Trump has a lot to learn from Cyrus.

Tariffs simply force China to work harder and smarter and accomplish more with less.
