Unfortunately, too many ppl get away with fake news and faulty "expert opinion" these days. Thank goodness that similarly, there are many ways for truth and wise analysis to also shine through. Thank you Cyrus for your fortitude and tireless efforts for fairness and truth. If Zeihan hasn't been so consistently wrong and biased for so long, one may not wonder if he may in fact be a CIA shill or some such bottom crawler.

Might we assume that because Mr. Zeihan's offerings are so close to the 'Anti China Narrative' of the Western Corporate Cabal, this might also improve those (Unbiased?) ratings. When certain sources can be shadow-banned and receive unreasonably low rankings; why not the converse?

There is a huge amount of insecurity in the waning Empire, leading to denial among the government people and also the Western Citizens. Propaganda that people want to believe is easy. I can't count how many times 'The three gorges dam' has collapsed on Youtube???

With people like Zeihan stoking Confirmation Bias, it is no wonder that Western citizens don't even bother try to learn about China. We don't want to look Pathetic....?

Intercultural exchange is a must. Pity I couldn't persuade my grandchildren who are one quarter Chinese, apart from one, to spend time with a generous friend in Chongqing, albeit a bit late at the age of fourteen years. I am forever grateful to my friends who, though childless and very busy too on the care of a western teenager.

If you come across articles and videos predicting the collapse of China, it is advisable to ignore them. These articles and videos are merely patching together some seemingly plausible materials to satisfy the authors' imagination of China's collapse. They have no real value. If Zeihan is just listing the problems China faces, I would take the time to read them seriously."

Great essay, Cyrus! I am delighted to see you taking on the "China Collapse" sector. It's quite an industry on YouTube and one that is not supported by factual analysis, as you have correctly shown.

Two things astound me. First that the likes of Gordon Chang and Peter Zeihan can predict China's demise for 20 years and never be held accountable for their wrong predictions. The old saying about a stopped clock being right twice a day doesn't hold true for both of these collapse fans who are never correct even after waiting for 20 years. Should we wait another few hundred?

The second issue is far more serious. Do Chang and Zeihan look forward to China collapse? Clearly some like anti-China zealot Kyle Bass do. The problem with this is that these pundits should be careful what they wish for. Wishing that a nuclear-armed nation of 1.4 bn collapse is likely not to end well. I am reminded of the former Yugoslavia as an example of what it might look like.

So great video and article Cyrus! Keep up the good work.

Thanks Cyrus; Very generous of you to answer every commenter.

Re ignorance about China:

People have always been somewhat xenophobic. We live in little bubbles?

In Canada, people cannot even understand the scale of China and how and why it is so different.

When I try to explain that China has 37X more people than Canada....in the same land area, they go cross-eyed..D

Peter Zeihan must read and steady this newsletter to learn and grow up.

Peter is simply too ignorant.
