What people don't notice (or tell) about the current Yisra'el situation is why there is much more support for the Palestinian side than ever. Palestine terrorist long tried to gain attention for their case by violence. Did that work? To release some wrath – yes. To further their case in a positive way – no. The current success can solely be attributed to the civil, peaceful pro-Palestinian movement(s) of Palestinians, Hebrews and their friends (like us) all over the world. This is a good example for the power of diplomatic means, that the war lovers of the world are terribly afraid of and that they don't want us to be aware of.

Agree with Cyrus. There's a slight difference in perspective. As the UN Secretary-General pointed out, the Hamas attacks didn't happen out of thin air. He reminds people to consider whether Hamas' attacks are entirely unjust, because people tend to have a preconceived notion that Hamas' attacks are unjust and illegal, making Israel's retaliation justified. The main leaders of Western countries also emphasize Israel's right to self-defense, seemingly neglecting Hamas' rights. In fact, Hamas also has the right to attack Israel because Israel has illegally occupied Palestinian land for decades and has committed many atrocious acts against the Palestinian people. It's impossible to determine who hurt the other side first between Israel and Palestine. Instead, Israel is undeniably occupying Palestinian land and suppressing any resistance from the Palestinian people. From this perspective, we cannot ignore Hamas' right to retaliate against Israel. Of course, what Hamas is doing wrong is indiscriminately firing rockets and indiscriminately killing Israelis. If Hamas wants to gain international recognition, it should only target the Israeli Defense Forces and refrain from retaliating against Israeli civilians. Israel should do the same and not retaliate against Palestinian civilians too.

Thank you for the info about the UN Secretary-General. Another very subtle change in perspective: the right of Hamas is not “to retaliate” violently to take revenge, but maybe better “to fight back” to defend. As UN res. 2625 points out: “States have a duty to refrain from acts of reprisal involving the use of force.”

Thanks Markus...it's just such a difficult situation...I don't see any other way for this to resolve then the international community making Israel realize that a two state solution is the only way forward

Hamas rocketry lacks a guidance system. These simple rockets are more like large fireworks..Congreve rockets from the 19th Century.. They could be made in any well equipped, suburban garage in the US. Hamas makes them under crushing Israeli sanctions and monitoring of goods and material into Gaxa. This is a literal "David and Goliath" story with Zionist Goliath playing the spoiled bully victim supported unquestioningly by his doting rich Christian Zionist Uncle.Samuel.
